NeoVeo join:2009-09-17 Toronto, ON | SIPdroid vs CSIPsimple vs. Mizudroid Hi All, I've been away from this forum for a while but am finally back. I did a search for my question before posting, some of the threads are relatively old.
I just got a smart phone and am wondering if anyone can provide some comment as to which program is "best" for using with voip.ms.
I have downloaded SIPdroid, CSIPsimple and Mizudroid.
I would like to know what your experience with them is.
Has anyone used Mizudroid (a new program, they are based out of Bulgaria if I am not mistaken), they have some many options it kinda reminds me of an ATA.
Also I would like to know your thoughts on using a VPN connection with these programs. I am thinking of enabling wireless at home and setting up a VPN connection for extra protection when using public wifi; or is that overkill?
As always I welcome your thoughts. |

OZOPremium join:2003-01-17 kudos:2 | I did not use Mizudroid. But I run SIPdroid and CSIPsimple. Subjectively SIPdroid uses less power, than CSIPsimple. It's a smaller program (less resources are required to run) and is simply simpler. At the same time, CSipSimple is more flexible in its configuration (SIPdroid supports limited number of account - only 2, CSipSimple - any number and you may prioritize them as well as choose codes, that you want to use). Unfortunately from my experience CSIPsimple has problems with registration. It's not reliable as phone should be. I change networks and CSipSimple may stop sending registration requests to SIP server, making it impossible to someone call your phone... I just hope, it will be fixed soon.
But generally speaking, both programs will work just fine with voip.ms. You may try them by yourself and pick up what's best for you. They are free. -- Keep it simple, it'll become complex by itself... |

 | reply to NeoVeo It is not free, but I suggest you try Bria. -- Lifespeed |

 | reply to NeoVeo Agree. I use Bria on the Iphone. I have tried many (maybe all), and Bria is best by a long shot!!! |

 | reply to NeoVeo I use SipDroid and it works very well in my rooted Optimus V in Wi-Fi mode. It supports HD Voice whenever I need it since I have Asterisk installed in my server. |

1 edit | reply to NeoVeo I vote for SipDroid.
It simply does the job.
1. Very stable, have used for a year, not major issue 2. Consume far less battery then other client 3. Open source(no security/privacy problem)
Although the sound quality is average.
Mizudroid is OK based on my limited experience, it doesn't support Bluetooth which I use daily.
Csipsimple just a shell, it uses pjsip sip stack, which cause many issues, not recommend. |

 | reply to NeoVeo Only Acrobits is acceptable.
All suck, because they all use CPU constantly, not much but always, I guess it is a "feature" of the PJSIP open source library. |

All suck, because they all use CPU constantly, not much but always, I guess it is a "feature" of the PJSIP open source library. Only because they use PUSH for incoming calls. But, if you do that, you are sending your SIP Credentials to the Czech Republic! |
