Re: Mozilla Firefox 10.0 Final Not sure why, but when I completely uninstalled Firefox 10 and reinstalled it clean once more, it was back to normal. Not sure what happened. |

 | Probably the usual thing--something got corrupted (through no fault of your own), then it got "uncorrupted" by a clean install. I do a [clean/complete] install (not an update) about 99 and 44/100 percent of the time. -- "Sorry for not responding to your post, but either I haven't seen it yet, or what you said was so devoid of substance that I found it utterly uninteresting." |

 | reply to NICK ADSL UK Really? I updated to this, now when i click on a link (set to open in a new tab) or right click on a link, click open in a new tab, it opens it in a new window...
Not only that, but my bookmark toolbar is gone from the first window...
Super fail!
Okay, maybe it was just that specific site... =/

 | Is it really "Final"? Yes. And 10.0.1 will also be 'Final' when it drops... next week? sooner? (I always wait awhile now myself, except for evaluating the latest release; I don't even waste my time on betas [and certainly not alphas]--don't do any dev any more, so why bother.) -- "Sorry for not responding to your post, but either I haven't seen it yet, or what you said was so devoid of substance that I found it utterly uninteresting." |

The new Dev tools I need to get my head wrapped around but happy to report the few extensions I'm currently using, primarily ABP; survived the transition. |

grunze510 join:2009-02-14 Cote Saint-Luc, QC kudos:1 | I've never had a problem with ABP being incompatible. I think the addons compatible by default change only (positively) affects add-ons that aren't hosted by Mozilla, so HTTPS Everywhere for example. I think that it was originally incompatible with Firefox 8.0 (or whichever version had that disappearing add-ons bug) and HTTPS Everywhere pushed out an update within hours before that version of Firefox launched. |
|
 | reply to mod_wastrel That's just it, I did a clean/complete uninstall of 9.0.1 as I always do and installed Firefox 10 the first time and that quirk with the bookmark menu occurred. |

 | reply to NICK ADSL UK Just like version 9, Firefox 10 trashes my hard drive when first invoked after booting or when I do a restart. A "No responding" msg is displayed on the FF window title bar. That didn't happen with v 8 nor does it happen with Chrome.
Another thing is that when I use Google translator, I cannot copy the translated text when clicking the right mouse button; all the options in the pop up menu appear grayed out. I have to reload the page twice in order to do the copying. It is a bug that showed up in version 9 and it is still persisting in Version 10. |

Is this the only time Firefox trashes your hard drive ? Yes, it is; after that it loads ok when I invoke it again, but on the google translate page, I have to reload the page twice in order to highlight the translated text and copy it; |
