| [iPhone] Does Voice Command work if Siri doesn't? I have iPhone 4 so I'm not very familiar with Siri. I use Voice Command (VC) all the time to voice dial the phone. I read somewhere that Siri only works when you have internet access. Are 4S users still able to voice dial if they are not within internet access coverage? Can they turn off Siri and still use VC or has it been eliminated in 4S? Thanks! |

Hopefully Apple fixes that in future updates.
Edit: This seems to indicate Voice Control is the fallback when you disable Siri. I haven't tried it and it's the first I've seen it suggested: »www.redmondpie.com/how-to-enable···hone-4s/ -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

I also turned on Airplane mode - it still "works", if you want to call it that.
"Play The Black Keys" .. "playing album, let it bleed" "Play The Black Keys" .. "playing album dookie "Play The Black Keys" .. "playing songs by ACDC"
Turned Siri back on and she got it right away.
Edit: Ahh, I got it now. Had to specifically tell it "Play artist The Black Keys". I think I'll stick with Siri -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

| It's great for voice dialing (I'm not really into the ipod stuff, so I never fooled with it). Of course, you got to figure out how VC will interpret stuff (mispronounce names so she'll get it right).
I'm surprised they don't give a choice of voices. I prefer an Australian accent (like Mandy Drury of CNBC).
As a goof, I set OS X to use an Indian voice, so when I use it, I can feel like I called the support line and am speaking with someone from Bangalore. |
