The 5GHz band is usually less congested than the 2.4GHz band in most areas. However, the range will be reduced compared to 2.4GHz. You can run a 2.4GHz and 5GHz network simultaneously.

If you have a laptop or device that supports 802.11n on 5GHz, you might see faster transfer rates and/or a more solid connection. All Apple laptops for the 4-5 years and the iPad 2 support 5GHz. iPhones don't.

If those are your only wireless devices, you can just run the 5GHz network and not the 2.4GHz network.

You can check what rate your computers are syncing with the router now by holding option when clicking on Airport menu icon and looking for "Transmit Rate". If it's at 300 now, you may not see much improvement switching to 5GHz. Are there a lot of wireless networks in your area?

You can leave it all to automatic and the router will broadcast both and the devices will grab onto whichever is faster.

**edit** They will show up as one network

As Gordo74 said, the default is to have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz on at the same time under the same SSID. That's how yours is currently set up. The iPhones will join the 2.4GHz network and the computers should join the 5GHz network. Unless you want to force your computers to always join the 5GHz band, you don't need to activate the "5GHz Name" option to create a separate network.

Looks like your sync rate is nearly maxed out, so you're probably fine with the current setup.
