bookie join:2001-05-17 Cordova, TN | 12mb ADSL2 wiring question So I had 12mb turned on yesterday. Last nite as I was getting it setup I see in the modem that its only connected at 5mb. So talking to a buddy he says maybe only one pair is hooked up in the jack. I take the jack off the wall and discover that I've only got old 3 wire cable.
My question is do I need to run a homerun to get both pair to get the 12mb?
Thanks for any help. |

| Yes, Cat5/e homerun would def be a good thing to do if you can. As far as your buddy's advice, not sure what he was trying to tell you, but 1 pair is all that's needed.
If you have landline service, a whole house splitter/balun would be best if you decide to install a cat5/e homerun. Test your modem/rg at the NID if you can, see what results you get there.
Just my 2c. |

Thanks for your replies. |

Thanks for your replies. Curious as to why your ref "bonded", you're not on an INId connection per your post. ?? |
