 | LFD, why isnt this in ToR? So, after spending a ton of time looking for a group for Athiss and Mandolorian Raiders, I gave up.
Has there been any talk of a LFD tool in ToR, ala WoW. I know a lot of people my level are spread out on planets look doing quest, but it just seems like LFD would be more fun, for me anyways.

I think LFD was awesome when it came out for wow. Nothing sucked worse spending 1-2 hours in trade trying to find a group when no one from guild was on or they were already in groups. |

 | Yea, I did that stuff too, for Scarlet Monastery, alliance side. I loved that place. Chatting while running from Southshore for 10 minutes, waiting for the guy who was 39 and didnt have his mount yet, etc...
Memories...
But, I dont have the time to do that like I used to, messaging 10 people and organizing and etc just seems like a hassle now, I would rather just hit a button and be auto grouped.
I think it should be an option, and they need to include cross server as well. SO SICK OF HUTTBALL!
I haven't even logged in lately, I hate questing, and the fun of doing dungeons and getting gear is pointless with all the time it takes to get it set up. -- DSLR's #1 Diablo 3 Fan. |

| reply to Savious The reason there is no LFD in ToR, as Bioware specifically said (though I think they're considering adding it because people are bitching, I personally agreed with their stance) "LFD ruins the sense of community on servers and encourages bad manners." -- Lore Nerd. I'm a big fan of the game but I'm not so blind to say otherwise.
They have the ability to fix the issues the game has but if they do in a timely manner is a different story. Making the LFG system not such would be such an example.
I really don't believe LFD should be added.
In other news the Scoundrel / Operative nerf did make it to live. We're completely worthless. -- Lore Nerd. Role Player. Raid Leader. Healing Priest. Slightly Annoying. Also Likes Kittens. |

 | reply to Savious So far I've been able to run every flashpoint I've qualified for with a minimum of waiting, with only two fail groups. That being said, I'd still like to see the LFD function in some capacity, so that I could continue working missions instead of heading to the fleet when I want to run a flashpoint. |

That I think is the only pet peeve... Having to go to the fleet to start the flasphoint each time.
Yes, yes, you can take the rocket from whatever planet you are on, but even that gets tiring.
So no to the LFD, but yes to a method to translocate to the flashpoint, or even heroic, would make me very happy. |

 | reply to Savious As I level slower I've had some real challenges getting groups together to run flashpoints. I play as a healer which tends to be a more sought after class, typically.
I support an automated LFG system and highly liked it in Rift. As a professional with a smaller amount of game time it's not a function of socializing. I'm not in the game to build a community. I already have my online friends and if I run into cool people so be it, but that's not the point in why I'm playing the game. I'm there for my enjoyment within the hour or two I have to play. Standing around spamming "Heals LFG xxxx" is not fun and becomes a waste of my time, and again I'm playing to have fun as a momentary escape between getting the kids to bed, setting up for the next day, doing chores around the house, and hitting the rack.
If you don't want to use the tool, then by all means stand around and spam LFG all you want, but allow those of us that would prefer to maximize the little time we have to do so. I find it offers very little penalty and large rewards to user enjoyment. |

 | reply to Savious I would be for it only if it didn't go cross-server. -- Slydermv--In short.. hookers save lives.

 | I could care less about any sort of community, and bad manners just make me laugh. Who cares? You wanna be a doucher, go for it.
Ill just reque anyways and play with people that want to play the game. If you get your kicks out of being a cave troll, more power to you. -- DSLR's #1 Diablo 3 Fan. |

 | reply to Savious Yeah.. one think about no cross server, at least for BG's... is you really start seeing the same names playing, you know who's goood etc.
I would love a LFD as well, but server only please. It takes away the /1 spam, gets you into a group while you level and craft, but still allows you to get to know the people on the server becasue you are playing with them. |
|
 | Yea, I think it would be okay because not a lot of people hang out on the fleet right now.
If no LFD, what about a server wide LFD channel? I dont know. -- DSLR's #1 Diablo 3 Fan. |

 | reply to Savious A lot has to do with the transport time. I can go about doing my quests while in the que. Once it pops I can be transported to the flashpoint, then back to my original location or rez spot. I don't want to just stand around.
If I'm not at the Fleet when I log in, I've got to spend 10 mins or more getting there, may spend 30 mins LFG. If I don't find one, it's another 10 mins back to my original spot. That's 50 mins out of the hour or two I have to play. 40-90% of my play time spent looking for a possible group is not my idea of fun times.
I don't care if it's server only or not. I'd be happy to start with server only and watch the wait times. If someone's an asshat then most folks just drop the group and reque. If it's always the same asshat I'm no worse off than I am right now by reverting to the old /1 "Heals LFG XXX". |

I too would love a LFG/LFD tool as long as it wasn't cross-server. This way if you get a group you like, or even people you like you can friend them and asshats could be ignored.
Luckily my main is a BH Tank and my friend is a Sith Sorc healer. It's SO easy to find 2 dps for any run. Even with that my friends list has a slew of dps that knew what they were doing and we check with them first and 95% of the time we have a group ready to go in seconds. -- I'd take the time to insult your intelligence but you probably wouldn't get it. |
