I have an LG Vortex through Verizon and the nearest tower is largely uncongested for most of the day and at worst I see the lowest speeds when I tethered at 700Kb/s. anyhow I can go anywhere on the farm and there is only 1 spot on the whole farm where there is a break in the trees and I can see the hill between my hill and the tower that I get 3 bars of service, and on the rest of the whole farm i get from nothing in a few spots to one or 2 bars of 3G if I hold my mouth and the phone just perfect and this also includes in the house for everywhere but one spot. That one spot is the riddle I have 4 verizon phones in the house and I have this canon all in one printer beside me here on my desk and I can set any one of those 4 phones including mine on this printers output tray and get 3 bars of 3G sevice without fail al day long. and the phones don't even have their antennas pointed at the tower when they are sitting their.
My question would be, should my MIFI do the same when I get it and what in the ......heck causes this, LOL -- HughesNet elite plan/.74 dish w/1watt trans. / 9000 modem / 3 computers on a linksy's wired network
The metal in the printer combines with the house structure to create a concentrated stronger signal. Think of your house and the printer as the reflector dish part of a satellite antenna. They output tray just positions it nearest to the maximum concentration.
Hmmm, thought I mentioned that I was asking in Millenicom because the MIFI I ordered was from them but I guess I didn't. Oh well, doesn't matter where my post got moved since my question got answered. I was thinking along those lines, thanx David. -- HughesNet elite plan/.74 dish w/1watt trans. / 9000 modem / 3 computers on a linksy's wired network
