i need your help with CMS:)

My name is Piotr and I am a student at Edinburgh Napier University studying Web Technologies. As part of my course I am required to write a dissertation on a topic of my choice, therefore this dissertation is designed to enable me to understand differences and similarities of Open Source (Wordpress, Drupal, Wiki, Joomla etc.) and Commercial (SiteCore, EpiServe, Ektron, Alterian, Amaxus, Sitefinity etc.) Content Management System within user point of view.

I am aware of the busy schedules of everyone, but I would appreciate it if you could take just a few minutes to answer my questionnaire. I would appreciate honest answers so that varied responses can be collected. This questionnaire is completely anonymous and will only be handled by myself and my supervisor if need be.

I would appreciate it if this questionnaire could be completed and returned to me by the 30th of February 2012. Thank you in advance for your co-operation in taking your time to complete my questionnaire, it is much appreciated.

The qualifications to make it into a university keep getting lower and lower...

I read through your questions however I did submit answers as I've worked with many different types can can not limit my experiences to just one fairly. The differences and similarities between "Open Source" and "Commercial" CMSs really don't have much do with their source code. There are crappy barely functional open source and extremely flexible, full featured closed source offerings, and vice versa. Asking if a CMS fit the user's need and relating that to if it was open sourced or not doesn't make sense IMHO. And if additional features were needed on top of the CMS, wouldn't the pricing relate more to the cost to develop those features, more to the web developer, and not the software license?

Also, the opposite of open source is not commercial. There are many commercial open sourced products. If you are going to compare to open sourced, the opposite would be closed source.

As stated, the qualifications for entrance get lower every year.

He's attending school in Edinburgh, so English probably isn't his native tongue. I wasn't going to hold that against him. Feb 30th however doesn't exist in any tongue.
