Clarksville, TN | [XPPro] open connections at localhost ( obviously if I've posted this in the wrong forum, please move it )
Machine was sounding like it was getting ready for takeoff so for no knowledgeable reason went into Kerio to see who knows what. What I saw was over 30 open Firefox connections. Is this normal or do I have ( serious ) problems on my machine? And for comparative purposes right now the machine is quiet as can be and only four Firefox connections: 2 out, 2 in. Thanks |

| If your fans are loud they are spinning up due to processor/gpu usage/heat, or a fan needs to be replaced, if you can't tell don't assume a fan is going bad.
You want to use an completely outdated rule based firewall, but apparently have no understanding of the many concepts involved. Yes it's normal for a browser like Firefox, and many other programs to use the localhost loopback. It also appears you really have no idea what your rules are doing running Kerio 2.x
You can have as few as one to two tabs open in Firefox to generate that many connections, it just depends on the pages.

Clarksville, TN | thanks for the response - and I totally agree that I know that I don't know dip which is why I asked. I do know that Kerio is outdated adn not maintained or supported but it has served me well from back into the days that it was current, even if I don't understand it. Thanks again, Harris |
