Band width useage

My monthly bandwidth usage for the last three months - 48GB, 55GB, and 103 GB this last month.

I have been glued to the tube more this last month but also I have been streaming at 1080p, HD, which I don't think I was before. If one were to watch a movie at 1080p it would be of a picture quality as nearly as good as when the film came out of the studio. I don't think a CD/VCR blue, green or whatever could match it.

Question: Does streaming in HD use up more more Band with than SD? If so and one were up against the caps one could throttle down to SD for that content where the sound was more important than the quality of the picture.

Yes HD video uses much more bandwidth then SD. Typically you can select SD or HD but you can not pick if you want only better sound or video out of it.

Thanks. Like listing to a talking head and I was up against the cap I could drop down to SD.

Not sure if you're using NetFlix or not but according to them HD uses 2.3GB per hour.
