Keeping SBCGLOBAL email address

I was wondering, if I were to cancel U-verse, would I be able to keep my SBCblobal email address. Had this email address for about 10 years now and do not want to use it.
At this time I want to get away from the AT&T whore, she is currently the most expensive in my area and my 1 year contract is up.

Any suggestions on keeping the email addy?

Yes you do get to keep the email even after dropping their services. I move back and forth between att and comcast and I still have the sbcglobal.net email from years ago when i first signed up for dsl. i think i have atleast 5 different att/sbc/pacbell email gathered through the years

Thank you so much. I keep finding conflicting info when I search on the matter.

Yep, I dropped U-Verse around eight months ago and I was still allowed to keep my sbcglobal.net address.

yeah the email addresses don't actually belong to att/sbc. All these emails are provided by yahoo and att simply pays yahoo to be able to change you email address from "@yahoo.com" to "@att.net" or whatever. As long as yahoo.com is alive your email is in good hands.
