| Desktop that turns on WITHOUT help Bestec ATX-1951D Intel, E210882 DB ATI X1550 256 MB 2GB DDR 400 Intel P4 (Not sure of speed)
NO HD Installed yet Installed in a HP case (a750y)
The problem is when I plug IN the power chord, The system starts right up. (I don't have to press the power button) I CAN however, push the power button to force the system off. I also do not get a system beep or video, I can try another video card however, What makes a system just turn on by itself? |

BK3 join:2001-04-10 Geneva, IL | reply to IowaMan Some boards have a BIOS setting that turns the computer on after a power loss. This setting usually has 3 options:
1) Stay Off 2) Power on 3) Same condition as before power loss
Your board, if it has this option, may be set to #2. -- Learn from the past and look to the future. |
