Re: Advise on Switching Over to Teksavvy

I've been very happy with TSI in central Toronto. Service is solid. With all the hooplah that has been going on it's hard to know where the pricing is going and who will end up with the best deals. It would seem that Distributel will offer you the best price but I cannot offer any input on their service.

Don't be to put off by all the negative comments. Teksavvy is doing the best they can under pressure from CRTC decisions, Bell cash grabs and Rogers indifference to their problems.
Most complaining of Teksavvy's "cash grab" is because they didn't hide the costs in the overall price, they actually tried to be transparent in their dealings with users and explain where the money is going.
Doesn't sound to bad to me.

If you got rick-rolled over would you also get dinged a $25 upgrade fee to that tier. Seeing theres a $25 price difference between the limited to unlimted for 25/7. Thats a virtual $50 jump for one month anyways. Unless I'm reading this wrong.

Just to be fair, In forums like these most people post cause they have some sort of problem and those who have no problems rarely if ever post things are going well.

I suggest you read the postings with people with issues on their service. Some are solved others aren't, but make a decision on what you read and not on the opinions of a few people.

I myself am switching from the 5mbit service(never got around to getting the bump to 6) to the 12mbit(DSL). The Installations today and if things go well I'll make sure to post.

Bullshit, everyone pays the same rate for capacity, if it's a CRTC decision then why are Distributel and Acanac 20% cheaper then Bellsavvy?

No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......

Teksavvy can always move to an indian reserve and dramatically reduce taxes, something Ralph at Istop pondered but never took action on.

Distributel requires you to either rent or purchase a modem from them whereas TekSavvy and Acanac don't.

Teksavvy is perfect in Ottawa

Atleast for me it is....I usually get more speed than advertised with only weekday night slowdowns (still 10mbps+ though). Weekdays and the during weekend, I get on 26-30mbps instead of 24

However, there are 3 POI in Ottawa and if you near the St Laurent, I think it gets overloaded at peak times...google it
