| [Numbergroup.com] Invoice for cancelled DIDs I just received an invoice from Numbergroup.com for December, January and February. The charge is for two DIDs I had before December 1, 2011, total £5.76.
DIDs from Numbergroup.com was free of charge before December 1, 2011. From that date a small fee of £0.40 + VAT per DID, with a monthly minimum of £1.60 + VAT, was introduced.
I cancelled all my DIDs with Numbergroup.com before December 1, 2011. I just logged into my account and there are no DIDs in my account.
It's probably some issues with their billing software. I'm curious, am I the only victim of this billing error? -- Main provider: Anveo - Secondary providers: VoIP.ms, Callcentric, Localphone and Rebtel Hosted PBX: PBXes.org - Phone: Gigaset S685IP |

| Funny that you mention it. I have it with [VOIPo].
There were some confusing billing errors in a [VOIPo] account, and I guess they credited some back. So I had a small amount in MY favor. But then for some reason [VOIPo] tried several times in a row to bill my credit card, and of course it got rejected each time because it was a NEGATIVE balance. Each time, they sent me an e-mail saying that my card didn't work!
Out of frustration, I cancelled the [VOIPo] account which I no longer needed anyway, and now they sent me a bill for a NEGATIVE balance that they say is past due!
How can I pay a negative balance? |

| said by PX Eliezer:How can I pay a negative balance? That's very easy. A bill with a negative balance means that VOIPo owes you money. Just ask them to send you a check for the amount.

| Perhaps.
As long as they don't send me a $ 44 million bill, it's not so bad. »abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2···al-bill/
And as long as they don't malf my credit rating.... |

Adam4Premium join:2011-05-30 Woodland Hills, CA | reply to Arne Bolen I just got not one but two copies of a bill via email from Numbergroup for £4.80 for two DIDs that I cancelled before the free cutoff period.
The bill also says:
quote: Payment for this invoice is due within 10 days as per contract, late payments will lead to the termination of your telecommunications service.
That would be fine, since it's what I ordered to begin with. -- Asterisk - VoIP.ms - Callcentric - Sipgate - IPComms - IPKall - UKDDI |

brg join:2001-01-03 Chicago, IL kudos:1 1 edit | reply to Arne Bolen I got a bill also, for one DID for three months:
Date Description Charge 2011-12-01 Monthly number rental charges £1.60 2012-01-01 Monthly number rental charges £1.60 2012-02-01 Monthly number rental charges £1.60 Totals £4.80
Also a claim that 33 calls had been placed for 12 or so minutes. Not more than 2 calls per month would have even been possible.
***edit***
I stand corrected on the 33 calls, in a way. I looked at the CDR they sent to me. It reflects all calls from 7/26/2010 (when I first acquired the DID) to 1/16/2012 (when I last used it). Hmmm; 18 months; not more than two calls a month; my guestimate was pretty accurate. |

Numbergroup.com displays negative rates at »www.numbergroup.com/information/call-rates, se screenshot above.
Inbound Rate Sheet 0800 freephone -1p -0.5p -0.5p
I can only understand that as I will be paid for receiving calls on a Toll Free DID.
So the question is, who is paying for the call?
A Toll Free number where the owner gets paid for incoming calls sounds like a dream. -- Main provider: Anveo - Secondary providers: VoIP.ms, Callcentric, Localphone and Rebtel Hosted PBX: PBXes.org - Phone: Gigaset S685IP |

How can I pay a negative balance? Just wait if they send it to collections. Collections company would be charging you penalty fees to reimburse you. |

 | reply to Arne Bolen It's not really an error with billing per se, but it's not good either. Computer systems are very good at detecting flaws in human derived logic and this is what's happened.
There is a 40p per number charge, but a minimum GBP1.40 charge on the account. 0x40p = 0p which is less than GBP1.40, so the the accounts got charged GBP1.40 per month. The notice said to simply remove any unwanted DDIs to avoid charges, but the system wasn't told that people completely emptying their accounts of all DDIs shouldn't be charged anything, the minimum fee still applied because the account was open (albeit with no DDIs).
It's not feasible to bill everyone for GBP1.40 each month, the bank wants more than that just to process the transaction, so for people not costing Numbergroup, the admin fees are accumulated and only charged for each quarter which is why this has just reared its head.
It was found pretty quickly and all invoices for accounts with zero DDIs and no call costs have been cancelled and these subscription fees removed. You should receive an email to that fact from Numbergroup billing. Also, any accounts with no DDIs in them will be automatically closed. |
|
 | reply to Arne Bolen i got the same bill. iPeel, if you are part of numbergroup, probably you should register at dslreports (instead of being anonymous) and disclose your official designation. |
