dissle join:2012-02-01 San Francisco, CA | New service with 2Wire 2701HG-B I'm trying to get new Uverse service set up with my AT&T branded 2Wire 2701HG-B. My order stands in limbo because my order got kicked back to sales for not being a 2Wire 2701HGV-B. The only difference I can find is that the V version has VOIP ports (same as someone discovered in this post »Re: [Modem] 2701HGV-B and ADSL).
So, are VOIP ports totally necessary to get IP-DSLAM synced up? Or is there some other major hardware change that makes this modem that is a little over a year old totally incompatible?
If the 2Wire 2701HG-B still works with Uverse, who should I contact to get service connected with it?
Thanks for any help! |

dissle join:2012-02-01 San Francisco, CA | Thanks wayjac, sounds like AT&T never upgraded the firmware for Uverse compatibility.
The phone rep mentioned a rebate for a new modem, I was really hoping to just use my old one so I could avoid doing the rebate dance with AT&T though, they seem to systematically screw up discounts and rebates and inform you it's to late to do anything about their mistake once you catch it. Or at least that's my experience...
Would you by any chance know where to find the 6.3.x 2701HGV-B firmware? I'd like to see how badly it bricks this HG-B. |
