This printer was released in May 2001 and is a PostScript printer. The PostScript drivers may need to be on the device where the printer is located. That will not be possible with any print server like the Sagemcom.
To test this you could install the LJ 1200 on one computer and try accessing it through file and printer sharing form another computer.
The above instructions are the same. You should see the printer attached to a computer instead of the Sagemcom.
We have a Dell 1110 laser on a print server. When the Dell 1110 is attached to a computer, you can select double sided printing. The printer will print all the odd pages. You simply remove the pages as the are in the output tray and put them back into the input tray and push the cancel button on the printer. The even pages are printed from the last page and from the bottom of the page to the top.
On a print server, that specialized function does not work. If the printer is attached to a computer, the specialized function only works where the laser is attached and not with any computers connecting via file and printer sharing.
New home/office USB printers do not use PostScript.

An 1130n (Network laser - 12,000 monthly duty cycle and 64MB SDRAM) and it supports PostScript for $149.00. PostScript will work with network (Ethernet) printers.

| this is very true. I have an HP laserjest 1020 and this printer requires the firmware to be sent to the printer everytime it's been powered off. this is normally a function of the windows driver.
You can test this SOMETIMES by powering on your pc with the printer connected directly to it via usb. print one page. unplug the usb cord from computer and plug it into sagemcom (or any network print-server) without power-cycling the printer or your computer.
Now attempt to print to it from the network.
If it works this way than you can almost bet it requires firmware ( or post script drivers) to be sent during the first printing of a document after computer or printer power cycle- which will never be possible to with the sagemcom |
