| HTTPS/SSL Observation and Question I started using h t t p s : / / secure.dslreports.com/forums/fav recently. I realize I may be unique and this "feature" may be young.
It appears the SSL structure is fairly complete but one notable exception is the forums:
This link on the page: » All Things Unix (SSL)) redirects to: »All Things Unix (non-SSL)
I didn't sniff it but it behaves like a redirect, anyway.
Oversite or known behavior? |

1 edit | HTTPS isn't really implemented site-wide, it's initial intent was to support the ISP Direct forums where members may be posting sensitive information like IP addresses, account numbers, etc.
While it does work for other forums here, I think the site software will eventually realize you're browsing a non-direct forum and bounce you back to a standard HTTP connection. If you prefer using purely HTTPS here, I've heard of members installing the https-everywhere extension in their browser.
Edit: I should mention that the afore mentioned extension is only available for FF at this time. |

| Thanks, state. It was HTTPS-Everywhere that peaked my interest and DSLR appeared to have a complete SSL access. Never saw anything official but that didn't stop me from trying it out. It's a darn good idea I wish more sites would consider. |
