 | [TWC] Speed testing on TWC (The Worst Cable) Don't rely on ANY TWC speed test sites, use ONLY ones outside their network. TWC has pretty good speeds within their network, but that's the end of it. Anything outside TWC is SLOW, and Oversubscribed. When they added the Buffalo-Niagara area,(When Adelphia went to prison for fraud) they plugged it into their existing Rochester, NY operations which were already nearing subscriber maximum. Now with a few hundred thousand MORE subscribers, their gateways into the real Internet are hopelessly clogged. This is aggravated by their inherent refusal to spend money, while increasing customers bills on a monthly basis. Its no wonder they cant agree with their TV suppliers (you cant get the Buffalo Sabres for example in Buffalo) because theyre pinching pennies and loosing customers to direct TV. Bottom line is if there were any alternative to TWC I'd dump them in a heartbeat. FIOS never completed their build, instead hooking up the rich areas like Amherst and they say they'll never so Buffalo, cause all the ghetto bums will be disconnected in 30 days anyways. |

 | This company dont even care. In nyc they have fiber optic line that only provide the service to riches neighborhood. Were the poor working class neighborhood get like you said oversubscribed on there the line and they would not upgrade there service. |

All tests taken this very moment at around 5:30 PM, which is prime time. And I don't see a whole hell of a lot of difference between the three. Wideband 50/5 service from Time Warner Rochester. | Not to offend you but you are showing you trying to be a smart ass by posting speed like that. I am paying time Warner cable to get close to 15 Mbps or higher but not what i am getting. I am not trying to high jack the post or nothing only trying to support it. Also i spoke to a rep and i ask if their a minimum speed that i should be getting and he say there is no minimum speed just advertising the max.

The Buffalo/Niagara system and the Rochester systems are completely separate. If you have issues, feel free to create an account and hit me up. I can help with issues in the WNY Market.

Every time a tech tell me this i call time warner and report him. Techs sent to your home fix signal and home equipment problems, nothing more. They can't fix speed issues unless it's caused by a signal or home equipment problem. Otherwise all they can do is report it back up the chain.
What kind of modem do you have? It's possible a DOCSIS 3 modem might get better speeds bonding across multiple channels, at least that is if you currently have an older modem. -- If it's important, back it up... twice. Even 99.999% availability isn't enough sometimes. |

 | reply to blueondemand No, not trying to be a smartass. Just posting my experience, which is a complete 180 from what the unregistered OP posted, which is for the most part, false. Posting a speedtest result from the opposite of the country, well over two thousand miles away, hosted by a different network, that achieves nearly 51Mb downstream, which is above my provisioned rate does not scream smartass. And by posting by posting speed like that what do you mean? Posting a result that proves the OP incorrect. Remember I live in the area hes referring to, Western NY. Its called proof. Proof that Time Warner Cable has a ROCK SOLID Grade A+ broadband network that can handle just about anything that can be thrown at it. Sorry if my post does not support your agenda, but its the 100% truth. -- 2011 Time Warner Cable Forum @ DSLReports Poster Of The Year! Voted Unanimously on by ChillyCat and Elyria!
