[Speed] Comcast Internet Woes >1 month, making no progress with

Hi:

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Been having intermittent issues for more than a month now. At first, I wrote them off as cable issues (too many users connected, etc..)... But about Mid-Jan, it got worse... Almost clock-work from ~8-5 my connection is just terrible, can barely load webpages. But, early morning and evening, the connection is fine. I work from home, so this is a big inconvenience for me.

And barely 30 minutes later this is what happens:

Sometimes download is "fair" it seems mainly the upload, half the time I do the upload tests, it fails.

Comcast first told me it wasn't their problem, so I bought a new modem (SB6121). Looked to activate it, and comcast couldn't even get my internet working, they left me without internet and said a tech would be out the following day. Internet magically started working later that evening. Tech was here for 3 hours, couldn't resolve it. Been in contact with comcast for 2 weeks now and Monday they called and said problem was fixed. It wasn't. On Tuesday, they said a specialist was looking into it and would get back to me in 24-72 hours... Just got done talking with them and they couldn't verify anyone is working on it and that the problem was resolved on their end, but they wanted to try to reset my modem....

Really not sure what do do.

I am in downtown Sacramento and would love to stay with Comcast as the DSL speed here pales in comparison (when comcast is actually working).

Signal to Noise Ratio: 36 dB
Power Level (download: 2 dBmV
Power Level (up): 46 dBmV

The tech who came out said there was no issue here. He replaced all cables/connectors from my house to the source. He said there must be some network configuration issue from comcast, so he created a ticket for someone else to come out. Those people called me Monday, said the connection should be fine and working. It wasn't.

How do your modem logs look? Are there a bunch of T3 or T4 timeouts in there?

Wow, thats a big difference over a small period. Is there some construction work going on in your area?
