[DSL] Dry Loop Band Rate A to G

»teksavvy.com/en/res-internet.asp

What the heck is Band Rate A to G? I don't plan on switching to DSL anytime soon, but it'd be nice to see some information on the page...

They're listed on the page, if you just scroll down...

Scroll down and I see only the pricing. No explanation of what's the difference between A to G.

The definition is "the band you're in is whatever Bell says it is". There isn't really a good definition you can give an end-user, and even on the back-end, Bell uses different reasoning for the lower bands versus the upper bands.

Normally its intended to do with the CO you are being served from classified by distance. i.e. Urban downtown Band A, rural band G. Though I don't know anyone who has ever gotten DSL in band G since in those cases you could probably only ever expect to receive landline voice service.

Though Guspaz is right, Bell determines the band and it is largely a superficial rate.

Technically, band G doesn't actually exist anymore. Bell got rid of it in the recent ULL pricing changes.

I believe some of the new developments in Oakville going up north of 5 are in Band F as well...I believe there was a thread a couple of years ago about a customer living in Oakville and paying band F and Bell basically saying, that's not going to change, even though its just about completely build up and urbanized now lol .

I live in the boondocks and I'm in Band B .
