CCENT/CCNA in Florida

Anyone attended a CCENT/CCNA bootcamp, specifically in Florida that they would recommend?

I'd like a 1-2 week course, focused with hands-on training, not a lecturing/book memorization session.

I'm guessing a $5-7k budget.

Haven't personally dealt with this company but I generally hear good things about them...

I used Orlando florida and found 4 centers in a 250 mile radius.

I went with NH for my CompTIA certs, but to be honest, I would have been better off with a self-study, it was just sitting in a classroom lecture by a guy who could barely pass the exam himself, then told to go home and read a chapter each night... If I go that route, I hope the Cisco program is more involved. They are my only option ATM.

Sorry, that's all I got, I know some people that did SharePoint training and they said it was awesome. Depends on what the curriculum is I guess.

I appreciate the input, if anything it just reiterates that it may be my only option- while not what I want, probably the most helpful response.

Thanks

Maybe give Boson a call - they're in Tampa. 813-925-0700. They used to have a really good trainer named Bryan Baize (who's a CCIE). They have canned training programs or will customize something for you if needed (or atleast they used to).

CCNA is not a good choice for boot camp, I did the course work over 8 months at a college, and even that was at an accelerated pace.

The MS or CompTIA stuff you can cram for an pass, CCNA has labs in the test, that you really have to know how to configure and debug router and switch configurations

Of all the tests I have taken, the CCNA was hardest by far, I have my Bachelors in IT and did the Cisco stuff on top of this

I agree. If you already know the material and just need a refresher, a boot camp might be suitable. But if you're coming in cold there is a lot of information in the CCNA curriculum. Even if they can cover the material thoroughly in 1 or 2 week marathon sessions, I think most people would have a hard time absorbing enough to pass the exam.

I'm halfway through the 4 course CCNA program at a local JC. 8 weeks per class, get it all done in 2 semesters. The total cost for the entire program is less than $800. Takes longer than a boot camp, but I know I'm learning more this way. Not to mention saving thousands of dollars.

That's the route I'm going to take... the CompTIA stuff was easy enough to just self study, but CCNA will be a bigger challenge.

I did my CCNA using the Cisco Press books and the Boson network sims.

Much less expensive as long as you can actually put in the reading and practice time.

Lots of training places move around to different cities all year. I know a few people at work here went to this place. They did it for the CCNP and said it was very good. I'm selling a Cisco lab set if you want any of that to study on your own. I forget off hand but I believe I have 4-5 routers left. I was going to inventory them and list them on eBay soon.
