 | [DSL] Streaming problem: Not sure if its DSL or modem I moved from Bell Fibe16 to TSI DSL10 a few months ago. Since then I've been having trouble with streaming youtube videos. Netflix works fine. But may be that's because of the way netflix streams it videos in tiny pieces.
I notice momentary (10-30 seconds) connection drops when I am downloading/streaming more than one file at the same time. For example- the game Lord of Ultima downloads a bunch of images and sound files when the game loads in browser. I experience a momentary connection drop at that time.
With youtube, even streaming one video sometimes reminds me of dialup. Connection drops momentarily when two PCs are watching youtube videos at the same time.
This problem didn't use to happen on Fibe16, 2Wire modem. My current modem is DLink DSL-2320B. Not sure if its the modem. If this also happens to other TSI customers with different modems then may be its not my modem's fault. Otherwise I'd gladly get another modem, 'cos I like TSI so far.
PS: My router (ASUS RT-N16) is not at fault 'cos the problem occurred before I started using my router. |
