chlorine water will eat up my camera?

so the camera was by poolside

got a huge splash on it...

just want to know what happens... always wanted to know

if it was pure fresh water - it would dry off and be OK?

if it is chlorine water?

what exactly happens?
I guess on chemical level...

how long is the process

what to expect...

thank you...

Is the camera Waterproof? If so, I wouldn't worry about it, and just dry it off with a towel.

Chlorine levels in a pool are very low... Not enough to cause damage to your eyes, much less a camera... It's not like bleaching Laundry...

If the camera is NOT Waterproof, just towel it down, pull the Battery, and place it in front of a fan to help evaporate any remaining moisture more quickly.

*SALT* Water on the other hand, *IS* Corrosive, and should be thoroughly rinsed off w/Fresh Water, before attempting to dry the camera...

get a large bag and put dry white rice in it (or silica bags), and then place the camera in it. place bag someplace warm (not hot). the warmth will help evaporate the water inside, and the rice or silica will absorb it.I usualy have issues with my phone falling into water, and this is how i fix it. I save all the silica bags I find.
