Should be able to unplug the DVR from the AC power and replug it back in and all should be back to normal in a few minutes.

unplugged it for 10 minutes with no change. Still getting the flashing signal that looks like two small diagonal shapes. When DVR button is pushed we get a DVR unavailable.... alert. It had been working fine for past six months.
