 | DVR Issue For some reason it seems like the DVR is recording pieces of shows or not recording the whole show. This has happened twice in the last 48 hours. Once it recorded Southland in two pieces one for 42 minutes and the second piece for 15. The second time on a different channel it only recorded 35 minutes of an hour call. The DVR is not full or anywhere close to it by the way |

Ever since 1.9 has been released my DVR boots at least once per week. |

 | reply to hippdef2 My DVR often starts recording a few minutes into a program and or shuts off a few minutes before the program ends. |

| reply to Torrid Zone The DVR starts and ends a recording based on the published time in the guide. If the broadcaster does not start or end on the hour, or half hour, you will miss a few minutes. It's not a problem with the equipment or the guide. Set your recording to start early and end late in the program or series options. |
|
 | I'm not sure how to set a recording to start early. Is there a setting in the DVR to start a recording early or end it later? Like a minute or two before or after the hour. I couldn't find one and I wouldn't like to have to record three programs to watch the one in the middle in it's entirety. |
|
 | After you have set a recording go to the DVR menu and press OK on that recording. You should see a drop-down box with an entry to change the start or end time. Arrow down and press OK again. Select either or both start early or end late, click OK.
After that you need to arrow right and save your choices. Once you do that you should see the program listing with the early or late start period stated along with the program details.
The early entry allows starting one, five, or fifteen minutes early. I'd really like to see two minutes offered, as my local CBS station starts the CBS news about two minutes early on week nights and the guide doesn't pick that local change up. |

 | I was trying to find this option using a set top box off the MRDVR but it's not there. I did find it off the DVR box directly. This was just what I was looking for. Two minute option would be perfect in my case also. One isn't quite enough and five is too long. This is great though thank you so much for your help. |

 | Thanks a lot. This will help me when all the NHL games go to overtime and that stupid shootout. |

I set the option to end 30 mins late as part of the setup of the series, for Bruins games. That way I don't have to do it every time. If a game should end on time (occasionally!!) then I just stop the recording at that time. Works for me, YMMV. -- "My hat, my cane, Jeeves". |

This will help me when all the NHL games go to overtime and that stupid shootout. just make sure you don't have anything else recording at the time as it causes a conflict and waits for you to anwer it's querry and if you are not home it may default the wrong way. there are experts in here that can explain it better than me. but I have had a few things ruined.
I no longer use it as I always record end to end shows and 2 different channels and it just causes too many conflicts, si live with 30 to 40 seconds cut off at the end of each show.
I get really upset with the big bang and 3rd rock from the sun. you always loose those bazinga punch lines
my wife who has much better memory takes it one step further by manually playing the next show that airs and we can see the end. but the hassle is too frustrating for me.
IF I have the money and time I will put together a computer with that 4 channel Ceton card and be able to record 4 channels at once with just one cable card from Verizon.
