Need help choosing a service.

I live in the Golden Triangle area, and was doing fine with Road Runner Turbo, getting around 20 Mbps download on average, and sometimes 30 Mbps which I believe is due to the Turbo, so I thought, "Why not get Road Runner Extreme and be awesome?" And I did. Now I'm lucky to get 15 Mbps.

So I called and complained about my extremely disappointing speeds (sometimes getting 5 Mbps on their own speed test site) and finally they said they were having an intermittent connectivity issue on their end, but would also send out a tech to ensure everything is fine on my end. The tech came out and all the equipment is fine, but after talking abit he advised me to switch back to Turbo saying that they're still updating their system for Docsis 3.0 and that Extreme has a sort of hardcap on speed, while Turbo has been running abit wild lately.

So I get on the site ready to switch back down to Turbo when I notice that I can now order Wideband...wtf?

So what I'm trying to ask is, what is actually, absolutely, truly, available in my area?? Which service would give me the most speed? And why are they letting me order services that aren't fully available?

With extreme what you see is what you get as there is no powerboost available with it. Be patient and try at different times, you can't expect to get top speeds all the time, I do most of the time since my single channal changes often enough so it goes to a less crowded one. Extreme may still be coded for 20/2 in your area like it is for me.

@TWCdude: Something to find my account? What do you need exactly?

@CptGemini: I've tried all sorts of speed tests, different sites, different hours, and different network setups and I'm getting less on Road Runner Extreme than the worst I've gotten on Road Runner Turbo. And if you're talking about your control channel switching to less crowded channels, I've made sure to pick my channel after seeing which channels the AP's around me use.
