| I'd like suggestions for a healer raid / BG interface Currently in 5 man dungeons, I use VuhDo to manage my healer and it works well. When scaling up to multiple tanks, healers and what not (10-25) VuhDo doesn't give me the awareness I'd like. Also the raid bar on the left of my screen takes up a lot of space.
I'd like something that could mix the two, and not take up a ton of space, but still left me left / right click and set focus quickly for action bar commands.
Any raid / BG suggestions from healers. My primary healer is a shaman. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |

| I haven't used it in a while, but healbot often struggled with large raids where only small groups of people are in range at any given time. It simply wouldn't keep up with who was now in range who wasn't before, etc. I don't know how vuhdo handles it...
I actually found that turning on my SUF for BGs and having the bars fade out (a lot) when targets are out of range helped immensely. I'm still searching for a new raid frame... I may have to give vuhdo another shot, though.... -- Immergruen (resto/kitty) on Nathrezim Server (US) Guild leader for Pride and Ego "You never truly know someone... until you fight them"

 | reply to pandora VuhDo has a lot of sorting and grouping options. The default settings keep everything in groups. You can specify it to show the Role icons, have it auto-sort the tanks into their own group (add a new panel under the Move tab, and make sure the group is set to Main Tanks), have it auto-sort by HP to put the tanks in the front, etc.
You might already be aware of all this functionality, but if you're not, explore VuhDo. It might already do what you need.
Oh, it can also hide the default raid frames. All I have on the left of my screen is the slideout deal for raid markers, that is usually slide in so its like 10 pixels wide. |

 | reply to Immer I've never experienced any range issues on VuhDo. |

 | reply to pandora I am a Shammy healer and I use healbot exclusively. The perks are:
Bars fade as targets get out of range You can shift+L/R click for shields and casts You can filter out pets and demons Can cast cleanse and have bars change color on curses/poisons/diseases Have icons appear/disappear noting earth shield Have bars highlight for primary aggro hog have tanks/healers/DPS located at specific places in your bar line up
I have no clue if other addons have all of these features. All I can do is give you the rundown on healbot. I have used it successfully for the past 4 years. I have yet to have it bug out too much. I used to raid 25m heroics as well as 40m BGs. It worked quite well and was very user friendly. Please let meknow if I can tell you any more. |

| reply to pandora You know if you go to options > scaling, you can change the bar sizes, right? You can also set it up to display differently depending if you're in a 5/10/25/40 man raid. Look on youtube for guides on how to do that.
Healbot is trash. -- Here's the final bullet, to put our love to death. |

I truly believe you should just use VuhDo". Honestly, HealBot and VuhDo are both garbage addons that take up so much real estate on your already cluttered UI. There is an addon that you can download from Curse that disables the default raid frames. I forget the name of it but if you search for frame disable on there you should be able to easily find it. My second problem with both of these addons is this...every patch these addons are broken for at least a week while the lua code is hopefully being updated by the authors. The GUI of them is distorted and/or not functioning, so you have a broken player who can't heal until it's updated. If you want minimalist, try out Grid for unitframes (or even the default raid frames) coupled with Clique. Clique is like HealBot and VuhDo in that it easily binds the spells you want to the mouse or keys. It has no separate GUI for the player to click on, you can use the existing frames you have, and it works with SUF, PitBull, Default, XPerl, Grid, etc. I haven't found a unitframe addon it DOESN'T work with. Every since patch 4.0 I stopped using Healbot and went with Clique. I hate Healbot now and will NEVER use it again. Also, I agree with JB regarding HealBot (obvi) but I'll take it a step further. VuhDo is the same as HealBot but more confusing configuration options and fluff. Both are crap... -- I'm not loafing. I work so fast I'm always finished. | reply to Immer I used healbot for a long time on my priest, it is just very lacking. I swapped to Vuhdo and have been problem free ever since the day I swapped over. Most of the 'reasons' you claim grid/clique is 'great', you can do and customize in Vuhdo. Vuhdo can recognize macros, hence eliminating the reason to need Clique.
Vuhdo is patched almost instantly after a patch, and even after a patch Vuhdo is usually still operational to a point where you can raid and still be somewhat useful. -- Here's the final bullet, to put our love to death. |

| there are no need for macros using Clique. There is no additional GUI which VuhDo does and requires extensive customization to get to user preference. It Clique doesn't break...evar. Also, to bind Clique keys....Open spellbook, bottom right Tab click "Configure Clique," navigate to spells in spellbook, click mouse keys for which you want said spells to cast, Done. -- I'm not loafing. 1 edit | I use clique.. and sometimes I do wish it could use macros. But that's what my left hand if for...so... yeah. VuhDo works with clique also (though not sure why you'd use it that way).
I'm trying to go minimalist... so I really just need all the information that the raid UI gives, plus the raid marker icon (silly blizz), and I need that information to be accurate to within a GCD. Is that so hard???
I may be stuck using either VuhDo or Grid+8... and that makes me sad. -- Immergruen (resto/kitty) on Nathrezim Server (US) Guild leader for Pride and Ego "You never truly know someone... until you fight them"

I may be stuck using either VuhDo or Grid+8... and that makes me sad. There is a specific Resto Druid addon called "Rewatch" I tried for a second but moved to a different toon for a raid group so i never got a REAL chance to use this -- I'm not loafing. | reply to pandora I stand by my set-up
Raid Frames = X-Perl
You can customize these frames a lot.
Mouseover = Clique
It's all you need. |
