| what type of Cable does DOCSIS3 use if I order wideband 30m docsis3 service in my building exactly what type of cable will the installer pull around my apartment, with what sort of termination connector, between the building distribution hub and their cable modem.
RG6U ? RG6U quad shielded ? Twisted Pair ? Fiber ? what ?
I ask because I may want to buy WHITE jacket color cable, if the installer shows up with only BLACK jacketed cable as the cable jacket will end up exposed along my ceiling molding. |

It will be RG6QS inside the builing for sure as that is the highest quality cable before you start getting into the drop cable at RG11. |

2 edits | the run from the hallway distribution panel, chasing down the wall to where the modem goes is under 40', so if I buy this 50' roll, he can cut off one connector and pull it?

I just want to have this $15 "insurance" in case he shows up with only black cable. |

Most cable installers won't use store bought cables unless the brand matches what they already have to install or it's run inside the walls. Same goes for connectors. -- If it's important, back it up... twice. Even 99.999% availability isn't enough sometimes. |
