I'm definitely going to have to buy that can it data log or just display realtime? using my xcal to data log is a bit annoying as I have to have a laptop with me |

| reply to RX300 I have had the elm327 interpreter chip connected to RS232 over USB version connector for something like 5 to 6 years, and never had a problem with it. »elmelectronics.com/obdic.html#ELM327 Elm makes great cheap chips for cheap.
Back in the day the elm 327 bluetooth version was like $200. $15 is a great deal. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |

maybe I should have noticed and paid a little more |
|
WarzauPremium join:2000-10-26 Naperville, IL kudos:1 | I noticed that too, when I saw all the $15 dollar ones. Even when I tick off North America, you see they are located in China. |

thegeekPremium join:2008-02-21 united state kudos:1 | are there other places to buy these than ebay? too lazy to google it |
|
DarkLogixPremium join:2008-10-23 Baytown, TX kudos:3 | I'm sure if you look hard you'll find some on e-bay in the US
sure you can also get one not via e-bay but the cost'll a little more
»www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-ELM-327···1&sr=8-1
it looks like it might only be a bit more but I haven't dug in to see if the amazon one is in the US yet or not |
|
thegeekPremium join:2008-02-21 united state kudos:1 | it says fulfilled by amazon so it must ship from the us. unless amazon has some fulfillment centers in other countries that ship to the us and i just haven't encountered it before. |

WarzauPremium join:2000-10-26 Naperville, IL kudos:1 | reply to thegeek I know there are some on ebay that are made in the UK. Which some of the youtubers who use the App swear by. |

WarzauPremium join:2000-10-26 Naperville, IL kudos:1 | reply to DarkLogix That's the one I saw in a couple of tube post where the posters claimed was better, short of being hard wired. |

mobModerhatedPremium join:2000-10-07 | reply to RX300 Yeah...it doesn't allow you to modify the ECU profiles...so you're just wasting time. |
|
DarkLogixPremium join:2008-10-23 Baytown, TX kudos:3 | for me its going to be great if I want to edit the ecu I'll just get my SCT-x3 out and change the tire size/diff gear/etc setting
but then this little thing should be handy for monitoring now I wonder can it record data and e-mail it or save a text file? that would up its value so I could datalog and send the data to the company that makes the tune that my car runs so I can get more out of it. (without having to have a laptop and everything in the car) |

No need for a laptop in the car... just keep the display charged, or better yet, use the provided power adapter and USB cable and get power from the vehicle. -- Ich habe kein Mitleid - Me You're a daisy if you do. - Doc Holliday And as always, have nice day. |

DarkLogixPremium join:2008-10-23 Baytown, TX kudos:3 | if I had that model sure
but I have this one »www.sctflash.com/products.php?PID=1&VID=
and datalogging without a laptop has a limited amoung of data it can capture
then again I don't really want some big lcd cluttering up my car. |
