joecee join:2011-02-02 Walden, NY | Ubee DDW3611 Config I have two questions. Recently had Ubee installed. I called tech support for assistance in hiding my SSID. I was told by the tech it was not possible and I should not have accessed the Config. 5 Min later the SSID was switched back to the default and I'm not able to access using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. Can TWC Lock me out from their end? Is it possible to Non Broadcast SSID on this unit?
Thanks |

They lied to ya. Look in the screenshot where it says closed network, just gotta toggle that setting to hide the SSID but hiding it won't provide you much more security though, you're better off having it set at WPA2 encryption. |

 | reply to joecee I just had a ubee installed by a TWC guy for the 30/5 plan today in new apartment, and I can't even access 192.168.0.1. It just gives me a connection error, even though I can ping it just fine. All I want to do is fiddle with a few settings Am also curious as to whether or not TWC locked me out or something. |

 | reply to joecee Try a factory reset and see if you can get back into it. |

 | I will try a factory reset on monday, just in case something ridiculous happens (which always happens!) and leaves me without internet all weekend. I'd just imagine that this screenshot of my mac telling me what the router is, yet not being able to see anything other than "this web page is not available...", is pretty fishy. Am I in the wrong here? |
