 | [speed/latency] Internet speed issues with streaming I've had your DSL service for approximately 4 months. My DSL speed has been extremely slow lately and when checking my transciever statistics I discovered I'm being provisioned for 768k/128k instead of 7.1m/768k. I've also noticed my internet cuts off in short intervals. I use my internet a lot for school, gaming and streaming. I was told Time Warner Cable triple play is cheaper. And they rarely I might sign up for that. My bill is 109-142 ever month and I have double play only. I'd also like to know what I'm being charged for, on my Verizon bill to make it so high every month. I signed up thinking my bill would be like 70 something a month. |

| About the bill: Take a look at the bill and itemize the charges. Break them down into categories that you can understand, and pay VERY close attention to the Misc. Charges section, which is where cramming charges tend to occur. Get things that you are not familiar with taken off in Misc. and if it turns out you're paying a lot for placing phone calls, consider what package you have right now and maybe try Flat Rate Local/Long Distance if your home dials a ton. I had a family member's bill crammed upon before, which was fixed by asking Verizon to disable 3rd party billing and giving the companies a call who were placing the cramming charges to cancel and refund the charges. Pretty easy to do. Both the Verizon call and the calls to the companies cramming were pleasant, and the people on the other end understood why the requests were being made.
Also, double check which plan you're actually on for DSL, and post up your modem's Transceiver Statistics for us to see. If you are not on the up to 1Mbps profile, then we need to see what's up with your speed. |
