Note they didn't close down I-5 or scare off the surfers either.......... -- one should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything |

 | And this is exactly why all reactors should be housed in containment structures - when shit hits the fan - it stays inside the room. |
|
 | What does this have to do with computer security? Unless the leak was caused by a trojan??? |

Question still stands. -- --Standard disclaimers apply.-- google this "(sqrt(cos(x))*cos(200*x)+sqrt(abs(x))-0.7)*(4-x*x)^0.01, sqrt(9-x^2), -sqrt(9-x^2)" |

| I find it funny that they want to shut down this reactor in California but they complain about the fact that they don't have enough electricity in California.
Hmm... seems counterproductive to what they want.
Now, I don't disagree with the fact that the plant should be shut down but this is where I break from the rest. A full investigation should occur. If any parts are faulty they should be replaced, the plant should be tested again, and if and only if after the plant has tested to be safe again, the plant should be brought back online for production of electricity. Which we've all seen, California is in desperate need of.
Unless everyone wants to turn off all their air conditioners. But... we all know that that isn't going to happen.
Needless to say, we need electricity, no arguments about that need. Nuclear, is after all by far the cleanest and safest form. Coal is dirty, oil is horrible, and natural gas is too expensive. -- Tom Boycott AT&T uVerse! | Tom's Android Blog | Droid Charge TweakStock by dwitherell |

Why? The world worked quite well before the advent of "electricity".
Things would be different, but would still work.
(Now once they shut of the electric, don't expect me to reply to your answer any time soon .) |

| reply to slajoh01 A couple of ways to think of it perhaps, first think of the containment building as a condom, a giant TROJAN condom if you will, or if that doesn't work, imagine how many security problems would go away if half of California had no electricity to run their computers, internet etc., for example it would fix those nagging Facebook privacy issues for some folks. The more I think about this, the more I think perhaps we should cut off power to California for at least a month as an initial trial in order to see just how many security problems would be solved.

If the world followed that mandate all medical isotopes and medical radiation treatment devices would cease to exist. |

| Containment buildings don't do much when the core melts down, or cooling system fails and there is an explosion from within.
The fact is that people do not trusts those reports of a "small leak of no consequence" because that excuse is used all the time, even when there is a major accident.
If radiation leaked into a steam pipe, doesn't it mean that there is a hole in the steam pipe as it travels through the reactor which allows radioactive gases or matter to enter the pipe ? |
|
