I watch thru Gamecenter (and Roku) out of town games are in HD. (not that SD that all cable channels have)

I have both FIOS and Time Warner. I am watching the Jets-Panthers on Time Warners Center ice in crystal clear HD

Hockey in SD just doesn't cut it anymore. That's the number one reason I have DirecTV. I'd say somewhere around 95% of games are in HD and most of those have two feeds available.

I have 10 channels in HD which carries both feeds often

And how much do you have to pay? You have to pay for NHL package but what's the minimum...basic package? And hardware.

And you can watch the games/ highlight after the next day right?

I guess you have to be a real die hard NHL fan to order that package. I live in the NYC area and it seems every night there are around 3 or so games on the MSG,NHL and NBC sport channels. I guess if your favorite team is not local to you then people will buy it.

Depends on your priorities. The Center Ice package will cost you less than two tickets to one game at the Garden.

And many if not all of these games are not in HD

Thanks for the heads up. I'm curious to see how many HD channels are carried. The SD quality was horrific last year.

NHL Network carries HNIC (Hockey Night In Canada). All I can think of was looking at Don Cherry's attire right before Christmas. If NHL Center Ice can't pass the "Don Cherry" test, it's not worth it.

NHL Network has turned into an abomination. They run that awful crawl 24/7 filled with worthless out dated "information" and to make matters worse they even compress the game to fit the space leaving the game obviously distorted.

It was a great idea gone horribly wrong and they do more to push hockey fans away than any other network. A couple of years ago they carried the entire HNIC double header along with pre and post game shows.

Last year that stopped. This year I don't care anymore since DirecTV is now carrying all of the HNIC games in HD on Center Ice. I personally avoid NHL Network at all costs now.
