Speed issues at night.

Hey guys can you explain to me what these means?

Wed Jan 11 01:50:26 2012 Wed Jan 11 01:50:26 2012 Critical (3) Unicast Maintenance Ranging attempted - No response - Retries exhausted
Wed Jan 11 01:50:50 2012 Time Not Established Warning (5) ToD request sent - No Response received

My service has been slowing down a lot at night the last few days and my modem logs, I keep seeing that.

Sometimes there would be 25-50% loss, sometimes it wont. Does this call for needing a tech to come out and check my lines? I just dont want to have them come out and find nothing and charge me for service.

Also this only happens at night from 7PM till around 6-7AM. During day time its fine and I get normal speeds. Thanks in advance for the help!

it could be a few things. Let's start with signal levels at the modem. Can you get the levels both during the day when things are running well, and again at night when they are not? You can find the signal levels in the modem's internal diagnostics by pointing your web browser to 192.168.100.1 We're looking for DS power levels and SNR as well as US power levels (you may have multiple channels and levels).
