Have you ever been charged for a service call by Cablevision? |

 | From what I was told, they only charge you if it's an issue not related to their lines/network/equipment. |

 | reply to TruthIsFree A few years back I was charged for the "install" of two cable cards into the cable card slots on the front of my TiVo-HD. The tech left with only a few channels working- he told me- "the rest should come in later". Well, that was a lie he used to get out of the house cause he was frustrated and had no clue on how to provision the TiVo. Later on that afternoon I called customer service and after about 30 min they provisioned both cards for me 100% perfect.
I asked for and was granted a full refund ($59.95 IIRC) of the tech visit earlier that afternoon.
Once the multi-stream cards card came out- I requested a replacement for the two problematic single stream cards I had had for some time. I was told there would be a tech visit charge for this too. After arguing for several min on how many times I had problems and had to call in for a "hit" on the old cards, they relented and waived the charge for this visit too. |
