Re: [BC] Horrible Speeds - Below 1Mbps on Broadband 50

Hey ShawSean,

I already got your help before, and I think most of us appreciate the good work you do here. Thanks to you, I didn't have to go thru the hoops during that busy period and I had a friendly tech that came on 3 separate occasions almost as soon as you got in touch w/ me.

We concluded that this problem is due to network upgrades, so I ignored the problem since October and downgraded to BB50 from BB100. Because of your help and good customer service from the techs, and out of good faith I decided I will give it 3 months and push through the Shaw networks' "growing pains". But my internet is sitting around ~1Mbps for a good 5-6 hours when I am mainly using my internet. Not just that but I can't even stream low quality videos on youtube or takes forever to load web pages.

I understand that you guys are doing upgrades, but its a bit of a waste of money to pay 70 bucks a month for a internet that barely hits 1Mbps during hours when I'm actually available to use the internet. I am just looking for alternatives from users here.

I am also having this proble. We moved to a new townhouse back in September and availed internet phone and tv bundle from Shaw. Our internet is lagging, during peak hours less than 2mbps between 6pm-12mn, after midnight internet speeds go back to around normal. I hope they will fix this problem because I also use my internet between 6pm-12mn, i feel like i am not getting my money's worth. thank you.

Near the top and looking down on the slow pokes. I unplugged router for a minute before test. I think its always good to turn these things off for a little while once and awhile. The devices seem to store stray data in the modem side of the device. The device we have is the SMCD3GN.
