Post OpPremium join:2001-11-06 In Close 1 edit | Lion killed my scanner I upgraded to Lion and it broke the scanner on my HP LaserJet 3055. It took a lot of googling to find a work around to get it working again. If Lion hadn't wiped out my Snow Leopard backups, I could have simply copied over a file from the library/preferences folder to fix it. I had to completely uninstall and do a heavily modified re-install to get it working. -- I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. |

Do you have the links for fixing the HP LaserJet 3055 situation? Thanks |

The first link is the quickest fix but it only works if you can copy the file you need from the library/preferences folder. You would need to get it before upgrading to Lion unless you have saved an image of your snow leopard.
The second link is what I used. There is one lengthy post that describes the whole procedure step by step. A little later in the thread someone describes how to post a sudo command by dragging an icon into terminal after typing sudo then hitting the spacebar once. I can now scan in Lion. -- I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. |
