 | How does the new bandwidth tool work? I have the DSL 16 plan and a 300GB/month limit. I'm a bit confused by the new bandwidth monitor, though, which now shows off-peak download/upload.
I'm assuming that off-peak usage (2 a.m. - 8 a.m.) doesn't count toward my 300GB limit, but the bandwidth monitor makes it seem like it does because it adds off-peak usage to your total.
If I download 100GB during normal hours and 500GB off-peak, does that count as 300GB of overage? And does off-peak usage count toward your rolling average? |

 | Perfect -- that clears up any confusion. Thanks Roger. |

Welcome to the new BellSavvy. |

Now at least I can cue up some off peak downloads and get close to what I paid for, at 5meg sync of course. |

 | reply to elwoodblues LOL bitter? Look, I was with Videotron for 10 years before switching to TekSavvy in December. Before Videotron I was with Bell. My brother is with Robbers.
Some people here don't realize how good we have it with TekSavvy. I'm not saying TekSavvy's perfect, and I'm not saying TekSavvy can't be better, but seriously? Compared to the other options I mentioned above, TekSavvy is a shining light.
Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't dealt with Robbers/Bell/Videotron lately. |

Not bitter, just a bit jaded from the broken promises of all these IS providers. Never had one yet that delivered what they stated. Having written that, I'm actually not unhappy with TS, just sick of looking at meters all the time. |
|
 | Fair enough. I get tired of looking at meters too, but with unlimited off-peak bandwidth, those days are probably over
In any case, meter or no meter, paying TekSavvy $65 a month for 300GB and unlimited off-peak bandwidth crushes the $120 a month I was paying Videotron for 210GB -- and $1.50 per excess GB!
Sick. I can't believe anyone is still with the big telecoms in Canada. They have a licence to gouge Canadians. |

Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't dealt with Robbers/Bell/Videotron lately. Not at all, I'm on Distributel and have unlimited service for significantly less then the Teksavvy Price. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... |
