So we have 4 walls 25 feet long each, that's 100 feet long.
Since drywall panels usually cover the full height, we only need to count the needed panels by the length of the walls.
So, if we have 100 of wall length to cover, and each panel covers 4 feet, we need 25 panels.
As for the ceiling, the guy put a suspended ceiling, no drywall work involved.
edit - 20x4 = 100? stupid me. Corrected. | | | reply to QuaffAPint said by QuaffAPint:said by 05451874:It's been about $30/sq. ft. to do a completely finished basement for me over the years. You could ballpark like $25-35/sq. ft. to be safe and get the typical range for the project. Thanks, but where does $25-35 come from, ie, what type of things does that include? Like, we won't be doing any plumbing - they can use the toilet upstairs, no bar or anything. Its going to just be an open U shaped area for the family to use. DM gave a nice price breakdown of some things (like the lots of lighting idea), just need to know like framing costs. Thanks again for everyones input, the more knowledge the better . The low side like $25 is the DIY side while $30 is like 50/50 and $35 is paying someone to do it all. That's the basics like walls, ceiling, floor, heat/ac, electrical, lighting, closets, paint, etc. for the basement. We typically do a 1/2 bath in the basement and they have been around $5,000 extra. We typically section the basement into a few rooms as well so there is some extra walls, closets, doors, etc. over just having an open basement. You might be able to get away with $20/sq. ft. with your project. I always try to do the basement with resale in mind and that adds some extra costs. | | |
