Chesapeake Beach, MD | News Channel 8 DC HD? What a waste of bandwidth! The only HD part is the ticker.
I'm sure WJLA-ABC DC is to blame since they own news ch. 8.
Most of the content on WJLA news is SD. The sports clips are so blurry, it is hard to see the numbers on the players backs. Worse the low res youtube. They dont use any HD cameras for field reporting.
I've emailed WJLA news asking when they are going HD. They never reply.
What a fail broadcaster. It is time to retire the SD equipment. |

| News Channel 8 is cable/telcoTV-only, so it's not a bandwidth issue. Are you watching the channel in the regular position (8) or the HD Block position (808)? |

Schaumburg, IL | Comcast probably is carrying it due to an agreement with WJLA. Most likely it was either carry the news channel, or lose the main channel. |

NC8 has their own studios and equipment (separate from that of WJLA, despite the two sharing a building in Rosslyn, VA) - also, it could well be an equipment issue (WJLA *itself* was late in converting to HD). |
