 | I actually like DSL Personally I like DSL, and if they could get the speeds up i'd prefer it over cable.
They probably lost customers because of the bandwidth cap's more then lack of speed.
I know in my area they only offered me 3mpbs.. which is pretty slow now days, And I live within spitting distance of a major city. but the service was rock solid I could count the outages on one hand over 7 years.
But when they put the bandwidth caps in place and I got a letter in Nov I left them in Dec for roadrunner which is cheaper at least for a year.. what i'll do when the year is up remains to be seen hopefully the market will have improved.
instead of ATT 3mpbs/512 for $35 I was getting ripped off they would never let me get any of the promotion deals cause I was an existing customer.
to road runner 10mpbs/1mpbs for $20 Road runner is a lot faster on some sites, you tube for example I can actually pull MORE then 10mpbs.. more like 15 usually. but on a lot of sites it's much less like 4-5mpbs.
I noticed some sites are even less then I was getting with DSL So cable is seems a lot more sparatic, where as with DSL it was slower but It's speed was very consistent.
Also the non stop flood of ARP data drives me nuts as my modem light is constantly going crazy even when idle.
Overall though im happy with the switch to roadrunner not as consistent but when it's faster overall for less money. |
