"On February 5th Shaw will be adjusting the Medium Simple Bundle along with the Best of HD package as described below:
The Medium Simple Bundle
Moving forward the Medium Simple Bundle will no longer include the Best of HD package.
Existing Medium Simple Bundle customers will continue to receive the Best of HD package as it was when they signed up.
For new customers and those changing their package - the Medium Simple Bundle will now include the Sports 1 and Entertainment 1 packages which include several of our highly popular HD channels such as The Score, TSN 2, A&E, Showcase, and many others.
The Best of HD
The price will be adjusted from $20 to $35 moving forward from February 5th.
Customers who previously subscribed will continue to pay $20.
Personally I feel the Best of HD package will also be growing this year.
On February 5th Shaw.ca will be updated to update the price of the Best of HD package, and the Medium Simple Bundle will be modified to include Entertainment 1 and Sports 1. " |

| Yah I saw that post too. My promo package was running out on the 23rd, so I had already called to get it switched on that date. After reading this I called in and had them do it right away. I'd rather have the grandather 20/month and miss a few weeks at my discount, then keep paying an extra 15/month.
It is a shame though. I thought this gave shaw a legup on telus. As telus doesn't have an affordable way to just add the hd channels.
When I got home my internet was out. It turned out when they changed my packages, they somehow reset my modem. Had to get them to put it back in bridge mode.. lol.. wierd stuff. |

It's the 4th today and the website already says $35 but the online chat rep says it's still $20 so I switched over. |

Winnipeg, MB | Well, that's unfortunate for me I guess. was going to wait until April (promo prices end) to make the switch since the HD channels are the ONLY channels I watch, but now it looks like I'll be dropping back to basic as I had it before. If I could switch now I would, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can.
I guess that's what happens when you don't read the website on a weekly/daily basis, just in case.
Was there a reason for the price increase? Or is it like usual "because they can"? |

I just signed up for "Best of HD" via chat and asked for the $20 rate and they gave it to me. This won't last for long so you better sign up now if you want it! I also dropped $25 worth of other packages that Best of HD mostly overlapped with, so the net is $5 cheaper bill every month for more HD and a few less SD channels that I didn't watch anyways.
BTW the chat was unusually fast - I didn't have to wait any longer than about a minute to get someone. Is this maybe because I used the Shaw Friends concierge chat? Anyway, it was nice! |

| Yeah, there's been unusually dead queues. Many new reps and many happy customers as a result. What a relief for all. 
The Shaw Friends chat portal is also the fastest way to get in touch, bar none. Third day of zero wait times. Loving it. |

I tried yesterday afternoon, and he wouldn't give it. I guess it depends on who you get... It's not that big of a deal, we will downgrade our TV to basic anyways, if not off completely since we are starting to stream our shows off the internet. And, it's just not worth the monthly cost anymore. |
