No default gateway/no access to config, new Ubee DDW36114D

Scenerio: Just had a TWC guy come in today to set up a 30/5 wideband internet today (hudson valley, NY) and he got me started with the Ubee DDW36114D. Net works perfectly so far, wirelessly and wired.

The Problem: I can't access the web UI to change my SSID and password. Entering 192.168.0.1 like the manual said to do brings up an error that the page is not available. I switched to windows partition (I'm on a mac) and did an ipconfig /all to find out what the default gateway is. Unfortunately, the space was completely blank! I have no default gateway yet I can use the net just fine...it's a little confusing!

Questions:Should I factory reset the router by pushing the little button for 10 seconds? What happens if that doesn't work? I fear that calling TWC about my problem will lead to them saying something like "you shouldn't be futzing around there in the first place, call us whenever you want something changed so we can change it remotely."

I believe this option is blocked in the NYC area. Many wideband customers put the TWC router/modem into bridge mode and utilize their own router. If you do call TWC, only speak to Tier 3 who handle wideband tech support.

Thanks for the reply! I'll look into obtaining a good router sometime this weekend and giving TWC a call on monday to put me in bridge mode. It's unfortunate NY users have to suffer this.

You're welcome. You should also do a search on this forum for more info on NYC wideband. and/or modem configuration.

Locking out the Router functions have been discussed 100's of times in this forum. From a support side it is impossible to support if customers are changing log in passwords, security keys etc.
Ensure when you call you get Tier 3.
