need cheap 802.11g tablet 10" netbook

I just got a 802.11g modem/router from Verizon (gotta love those cheap bastards for not giving a 802.11n device) that is currently ethernet wired to my desktop PC. In addition I would like to have a small tablet or netbook I can use with any browser that has flash support.
I missed the $99 HP Touchpad closeout, so I'm looking for something in the $100-$200 I can carry around the house a few hours without cords mostly for surfing the web, using browser based google apps for word processing and spreadsheets and maybe watch low res YouTube streaming video.
I noticed ebaY is full of cheap non-name android based tablets, but I'm hard pressed to find anywhere they get independently reviewed, so if I have to pay a bit more for a name brand that's been independently scrutinized, so be it.
If it's a pad or netbook, it must have a decent keyboard or touchscreen keyboard layout, since I type with both hands, I don't hunt&peck or want to use my thumbs.
I don't want something where I'll be tempted to pay for extra content, like a Kindle Fire or iPad, and I certainly don't need anything with 3g/4g support since I'll never pay for a roaming wireless network.

Can someone please point me in the right direction
there are so many old and new choices, I can't even
get started on my quest for the right make/model.

according to google, the top five searched models are;
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi 16 GB - Android 3.1
ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 16 GB - Android 3.x
Toshiba Thrive AT105-T1016 16 GB - Android 3.1
Motorola XOOM With Wi-Fi 32 GB - Android 3.0
Sony Tablet S SGPT111US/S 16 GB - Android 3.1

but these are all $300-$400
I need a cheap older knock off with fewer bells and whistles.
(I don't need camera's, GPS, and all that other nonsense)
ebaY is full of Android 2.3 generics, but I don't know which!
this seems like a good value for under $200, but I donno

Buying anything from china means HUGE cost to return if it does not work...

I would watch for sales on real name brand stuff the toshiba thrive I think newegg had on sale for 250 around the holidays... that was a good deal.

J/W how is verizon cheap I am guessing you got a router for *free* and you are complaining it is G and not N? I'd be happy to take it.

Going cheap is likely to suck in the long run (poor battery, poor screen, sound, flimsy, etc)

GL I've kinda been wanting one since the HP touchpad thing as well...

well, if i stay with name brands, thus far the Samsung is appealing;

but i need to stay closer to my $200 budget *sigh*

The Ainol NOVO 7 & 8 are supposed to be sold in USA soon,
so maybe I'll wait for these 7-8" cheap thick pads to appear.

as for Verizon... I'd rather not sidetrack this thread - please

I've seen lots of tablets on woot lately -- some reasonably close, or even under your budget, though the latter is usually 7"/8", not 10".

thanks, but from what I can see woot sells a
lot of refurbs and tablets near their usual cost;

but it's a good place to get educated on what
is out there - thanks.

a reseller who claims to ship out of Atlanta GA;

he basically has all the noname stuff on ebaY,
but since he runs his business off a cellphone,
my guess is he's really just a china order taker.

here is something compelling... under $200 10"

seem Asus models may be the value leaders to beat this Spring,
so I probably should hold off a little while on buying anything.
if I'm lucky the CES2012 models will make the old stuff discount.

here's a no frills 8" from a US Dealer just over $100;
