I just got a Pantech Link II (P5000) phone from AT&T. I mostly like the phone. It lacks a few goodies that my previous Motorola phone had but adds a few of its own so the balance is mostly positive. The only issue I have found is that for some reason he text message sound is too low, barely audible if the phone is in my pocket and not audible at all if I am not near it of course. I know it is not a problem with the ringtone sound itself because it is the same I was using in the previous phone and also it sounds loud when used as incoming call ringtone. Any ringtone used for messages will sound at very low volume. When you set the volume in the setup screen it sounds very low even with the volume set to maximum.

reply to printscreen Return it, and get another phone. You're still in the buyer's remorse period right? That phone barely has three hours talk time between charges, a very pathetic rating.
reply to printscreen It was free. I was forced to change my account so to speak being an old Centennial Wireless customer and having to go to AT&T. I could have chosen another carrier but it was a no contract, free phone offer... nothing to lose.
I like the phone so far so I would like to know if there is a solution at all. I don't care about ratings... as long as it works since I am not a heavy user anyway.
