[monitor no native resolution] Is the vid-card my prob?

Click for full size
I use a television for my monitor. (Since I OFFed the cable, what other use is there for a 60in. LCD with true 1080 HD?)

Yet as the screen grab shows; it's not possible to get the desktop to fit within 1920 X 1080.

• Is the issue my video card?

Technically you already answered your own question, over scan is the key here and no, it's not a problem with your video card, it's a problem with your TV.

So it's a problem with the TV.
Is this a setting I can adjust?
What is it called please?

Some TVs offer a "PC mode" which turns off overscanning and perhaps some dynamic image processing. Since you won't say what model you have, I suggest you google "overscan youmodelnumber"

Look for something on the tv menu "just scan"

If you dont have that option try:

quote:
menu->picture->picture options->size And changed the size from the default of 16x9 to "Screen Fit"
