[Sci-Fi] Primeval: New World

Regarding the ITV series: "Haines and Hodges don't think they're getting a Series 6"

and thanks to an accidental find on a web search, I've discovered some more (great!) info about Primeval, New World!

First off, the production is scheduled for Feb. 29-July 9. And--the big news--there are two cool names involved with it: Producer/writer Gillian Horvath and director Martin Wood.

Most recently, those two have been a huge part of Sanctuary (which is an awesome show in itself) and they've also been variously involved with some other great genre shows, such as Stargate, Andromeda, Highlander, Painkiller Jane, Forever Knight and Jeremiah. The best part is that Gillian is also a huge fan of the original Primeval, which tells me that our show is going to be in very good hands. Wahoo!

The last season of Primeval wasn't that great. I think the show tried getting to big with it's success, and sorta failed.

I hope they avoid that mistake with the American version.

My kids gave up on the show, when conner and abbey lost Rex. Same thing with the TV series surface. My kids got drawn in when the kid became a friend with one of the sea creatures. A tad to little to late.

I lost track of series 5 of Primeval so I will have to download to catch up. I think I also have to do series 4 as I missed the Danny episode when he got back after killing Helen Cutter.

That said, this looks promising. I love Primeval and hope this one turns out good as well.

More information from one of the Primeval Facebook pages:

Sources say that New World will be the Primeval equivalent of Torchwood, a much darker and scarier version of the original, with the added bonus of gory scenes that Primeval wouldn't have dared to make.

That sounds good...I hope they get Connor and Abby for at least the first episode or a guest apperance early to bridge the series. I can understand them not being in it but something to link up the two series would be nice.

Or how about Professor Cutter? or Danny? You can also have the Ben Miller's character to bridge the series as well.

Cutter should be dead...depending on which timeline they follow. Ben Miller would be fun too but love Abby and Conner...many more possibilities for disasters

If the show contained the original cast (Abby, Connor, Cutter, etc.) I'd watch.
