| There's a tool here on the forums called "smokeping" that you might use to help diagnose what is going on. It's free and you can find it from the "tools" menu listed at the left side of the screen. I've recently had a similar problem of nightly slowdown, from about 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the smokeping test showed a recurrent line problem during those hours. The folks in » AT&T Direct seem to have fixed it, though, since it wasn't there last night -- for the first time since I began running the test a week ago.
If you post a question in the Direct forum, be sure to read its rules first and follow them. Otherwise your message may get overlooked. And for best results on the smokeping test you have to leave your system running around the clock until your test is done.
Welcome to these forums! You'll find them quite helpful; at least they have been for me during the past 10 years. -- Jim Kyle |
