Slow speeds

I am in Windsor, Ontario and I am on the Turbo 20 plan and running tests on speedstest and it's giving me

This is very slow. I called Cogeco and the guy said to test it on speedtest.cogeco.net and that one gave me a faster number. The guy on the other end pretty much yelled at me and told me that the problem is on my end, but it can't be. This computer is really new with great specs. Plus my modem has two orange lights and he said that was normal.

What could be the problem? What should I do? Thanks

Is your modem hooked straight up to your pc or is it also going through a router because you have a home network ?

Have you tried resetting your modem ?

Reboot your modem, the orange light means either the downstream or upstream isn't bonded (ds is the important one here as us bonding isn't yet in Windsor I think)

Yes my modem was hooked up directly to my desktop when I ran that test. I have a router but that's not the problem because I ran all the tests without it. I even hooked up my cogeco directly to a laptop to see if it might be the desktop and I got the same thing.

I've also restarted the modem from the back several times. Are any of the lights supposed to be orange?

I'm on Turbo 14 and getting only 4 MB, so a little better, but still terrible results. I called in the other day and the guy said there was problems in the area and that they should be resolved in 2-3 days. Well it has been 2-3 days and no results so I have to call in again.

My suggestion would be to call in again as it seems like your first call didn't have a great service rep. Didn't seem like he looked into your issue at all.

^ They have terrible customer service indeed, I will call again if this persists

Looking at the modem, the US light is orange and the Link light is blinking, all the other lights are green
