2 routers

I have a netgear wireless router set up in the basement and it has 5 ports. On one of the ports I have a cat 5 cable plugged in and it is ran upstairs. Could I plug that into another wireless router upstairs so it could be used as a extender?

Yes, via the link given, or you could buy a wireless access point, so you didn't have to modify it.
